This past weekend we decided to brave the crowds, weather, freaky masked characters, and take a trip to Venice, the city of breathtaking views, gondolas, and amazing sea food! With the weather forecast looking promising, we took off Friday morning for Venice, excited to see what the city had in store. Upon arriving, the weather luckily did not disappoint, there was not a cloud in the sky and for one of the first times, we did not need a coat so our outfits could finally be fully appreciated. We hopped on a water taxi and were off to start our day!

Thoughtfully examining Venice...

Arriving on the main land of Venice, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day by buying a bottle of wine and hopping on the first gondola we could find!

Without sunglasses...

Cheers!

Our gondolier insisted that, although learning to drive (or steer?) a gondola takes about 20 years to master, we should get up behind the paddle (wheel?) and give it a good ole' try. We didn't move much..but hey, at least we all look cute in the pictures.

Being a paparazzi in San Marco's Square...

More to come on our weekend in Venice, but I don't want to get yelled at again for taking too long to post (Mom and Dad...) so stay tuned!

starbucks, i love you, and missed you so much

Iced Coffees with Skim Milk. Soy Lattes. Coffee Light Frappuccinos. GTLs (Green Tea Lemonade, that is). The list goes on and on. I dream about Starbucks at least once a week, and I can thank Istanbul a million times over for feeding my addiction. I was almost 6 weeks clean of the overpriced, over sugary, but, yet, overly delicious drinks, and I can honestly say it was a very hard 6 weeks. Luckily, I got my fix, but what would a Starbucks visit without a complete botch of my name be? "Venti Iced Soy Latte for Meal?" Yup, thats me...(thanks Mom and Dad, forever butchered...)

Ciao for now lattes, I'll miss you!

I mISsedTANBUL...

Ever since visiting Istanbul 2 years ago, I have had the itch to return to the beautiful, lively, history-filled city. It is easily on the top of my list for my favorite places I have visited, so I was anxious to get back and spend the weekend re-exploring the city that stole my heart 2 years ago.

We toured all the hot spots including the Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Underground Cisterns, and Topkapi Palace. And because majority of my readers (aka myself, Mom, and Nini) have visited istanbul I won't bore you with historic details, but rather entertain you with pictures. Enjoy!
